Peripherals

There are many types of computer peripherals that interface with the Alerion point-of-sale / video rental software.

Bar Code Scanners

Bar code scanners give you the ability to read the UPC on merchandise items and the bar codes on your rental product. This reduces errors during a transaction and speeds up the selling and renting process.

Receipt Printers

Alerion will work with most receipt printers, both impact and thermal. Thermal receipt printers have an advantage because they are quieter, faster, don't require a printer ribbons, and are cheaper to operate. Some of the more common receipt printers we see in action with Alerion are Star and Epson printers.

Page Printers

A full page laser printer is needed to print reports in Alerion including the end-of-day, customer, rental product, and merchandise reports. Most laser printers will work with Alerion.

Cash Drawers

Electronic cash drawers interface with Alerion by popping the drawer when completing a transaction. The two cash drawers Alerion supports is an MS-Cash drawer and an APG cash drawer. They can be either a USB interface or printer interface cash drawer.

Customer Display

Customer displays will show your customer the products and their prices during a transaction. Alerion supports the Logic Controls 9900 unit. Either the table top or pole display.
